Adding A New Button

In this tutorial I am going to show you how to add a new button to your POS screen.

For this example I am going to add MANGO and then I am going to show you how to relocate this button to its correct position.

  • To begin with, click on the Menu button located in the top left hand corner of your screen, followed by Back Office, followed by Screen Settings and then followed by Button Editor.
  • Once this screen has loaded you will see a replica of your screen from your POS system.
  • Before adding your new button it is best to save a copy of your screen just in case something goes wrong.
  • To do this simply type in a title or even the date and click save as.
  • Once your screen is saved you can then begin to change the screen without fear of mistake.
  • Before you are able to edit your screen you need to change the mode from PREVIEW to EDIT.
  • Once the edit mode is selected you will then be able to see the numbers that are allocated to each button.
  • From looking at these numbers you then need to find the next available button number, in this case it is number 55.
  • Once you know the next number available, you then need to go to the hidden buttons drop down menu and select that number.
  • Selecting that number then brings up the edit button window. In this window you can alter every aspect of the button so that it better suits your screen.
  • You then need to fill out the details on the screen; including the product name, text colour and button colour.
  • Once you have edited the button to suit your screen you then need to ensure that the boxes under VISIBLE and SORTABLE are both checked.
  • Once all of this information is correct simply click the save button.
  • If done correctly, your new button will appear on your screen.
  • Once the button is on your screen you will notice that it is not in alphabetical order.
  • In order to move the new button into its correct position you simply click on the appropriate sort icon that matches your page setup.
  • This screen’s layout is A-Z going in a downward direction, so I would click on this option.
  • Once you have chosen your desired sorting direction, simply click on it and it will bring up a window asking if you are sure of your choice. If you are sure, simply type in ‘YES’ into the box provided.
  • Once clicking OK, the screen will then reload and put the button into its new position alphabetically.
  • This screen is then automatically saved to your system, ready for more editing or to be exported to your POS system.
